@everyone Out of curiosity, what is it about Eight Classy Bastards that’s not appealing?

I have too many games already

Definitely #1 for me. I’m already in five games, plus one that hasn’t started yet. It’s already at the point that it’s going to be difficult to keep them straight in my head (was I going for niter in this one, or commercial hubs??).

That setting is not a done deal. I could easily be persuaded to have all other victory options active as well. If you wanted in.

But maybe @Sledge_Poteet is not so sure he likes the glacial pace of this PYDT action.

Personally, I find it’s my happy medium. Live online play takes too much time and is too twitchy and superficial. Regular weekly sessions of 1-3+ hours can be a lot of fun, but are exceedingly hard to organise reliably. Also played on a timer, see twitchy above. SP I find I just get bored when things become a foregone conclusions. I recently rolled Maori on a tiny start and experimented with just having three tall cities, then resource colonies as needed. It worked well and I’ve ripped the heart out of Persia, taking its cap, with a couple others to go. But the tedium of playing through that just doesn’t interest me, because I don’t expect Indonesia or Scythia to put up an effective resistance.

But give me months (years?) long, detailed-oriented play with other scheming humans, and you’ve got me motivated, especially if this includes the development of real-world (as far as online contact goes) friendships, and I’m sold! I seem to have found my niche. And even opened my wallet to ole Mike for the service. Good stuff.

I could definitely stand to have a few more games on my roster. Trouble is, it’s such a fiddle-faddle getting on. Games have passwords that require a DM to unlock and, while I’m usually pretty good at figuring this kind of thing out, I haven’t yet worked out how to send a message that isn’t displayed on a forum. Tips?

Looks like you made it into the Classy Bastard group.

Main tip is, click on your avatar up in top right. There’s four option tabs under it, one for alerts, another an envelope for DMs. I guess the other two are for bookmarks and your profile.

Edit: some games may be easier to access or at least have a more active presence over on discord. I prefer this old school place; others may opt for their own discord thread for games over under the PYDT discord server. I have one cloud game I monitor on yet another discord server, which has a bot that alerts me when it’s my turn. Otherwise, I tend not to hang out or even check over there much at all.
