I guess you can make an exception for this. Move the merchant together with a military unit to the border of the city state and then enter the cs with the merchant alone. But you are right, this rule is very strict. I understand you should not scout unknown territory with great people, but I don’t see the harm for moving great people without a military unit into territory that you already discovered. And by the way are you allowed to scout with religious units?

Based on your comments I’m updating the rule to make it more clear:

  • No Great People for scouting or obstructing, great people must not travel outside their nations borders without the company of a military or recon unit at most 1 tile away from him and must not be used to obstruct tiles, for great people that need to be moved out of their territory they must travel also accompanied as far as the companion can enter. This rule applies to explored and unexplored terrain because you can’t use great people for scouting terrain or to keep an eye on military movements.

Note: You can take great people out of your borders, but they must be accompanied by a military or recon unit.

On the pins rule, there is some people that use to put a pin in the borders of the fog, and then that pin lets u see more fog so then they put another pin in the border of the fog and so on until they can see how big the map is and to determine if they are close to the north or to the south, that must not be done, you must determine your position and get info of the map by scouting and not from abusing of pins.

You can’t scout already explored terrain with great people because that will allow you to scout for military movements, and you must not do that with great people, even if you are not pretending to scout military movements and you find military by surprise, so to avoid that great people must travel accompanied.

Yes you can scout with religious units as they can die.

As we are now complete, all bans have been done and doubts have been solved we are about to begin, here we have our playing times, according to this we are gonna be doing 1 turn per day, it’s very important that @Phuzzy and @BambusBjoern take their turn on time (as you have short playing windows) to keep the game moving on.

very good. let’s hope your plan works. by the way, we don’t need to stick to that plan on weekends, or do we?

The order in which players take turns will not change once the game start. Of course everyone’s allowed to play whenever they can, he did that timeline in order to ensure players don’t sleep when the one just before them is playing.

That’s right, we are not obligated to take turns everyday, but everyone would appreciate that every player commits to take his turn on time, and we will understand when that’s not possible for any reason.
We will also appreciate if someone has a change in his life and no longer can play this game to inform us to look for a replacement.

You can always communicate in public via this way, but you can also post your steam or discord user so anyone willing to communicate with you in private can do it.

Without nothing else to say good luck for everyone, lets have a fair play. :cowboy_hat_face:

My friends, excuse me for the advertisement, I have just opened a new game to try Secret Socities in multiplayer, if someone wants to join us you are welcomed.

funny, today I played first time in a solo Game (ai only) with game modes and the Secret societies

I have also played like a couple of times in solo with Secret Socities, but, as you well know, playing against humans is very different than playing vs AI, this game is for trying it in multiplayer vs other players, anyone willing to join is welcomed.

Since BBG got updated today, do we want to continue this game with live BBG (that means once in a while different things change in middle of the game) or we want to change to a static 5.2 BBG? If so, please let me know and I can switch this game BBG to static 5.2, and u need to download the static one from here:

I will delay my turn to see what we want to do

I’m fine with either, but since we have a few civs that got changed by the patch (Kongo) maybe it is for the best that we make it static now.

I vote for static

cool. I will convert it by the end of today if I see no objection

OK. I’m also voting for keeping the old BBG. Is there an official source for old versions of BBG from the developer?

Copying my message from another channel:

This dropbox folder is going to be the placeholder for static BBG releases for cloud. To install a particular version of BBG, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Download the particular .zip file from Dropbox
  2. Copy and Extract it into the Mods folder of where Civ 6 is installed on your system. On Windows, it should be somewhere like this: “…\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier’s Civilization VI\Mods”
  3. Restart Civ
  4. Go to Additional Content->Mods menu, and disable newly installed BBG to not conflict with real-time or other games (attached image).
  5. Load your game as usual, and play your turn. Dropbox - BBG Static Releases for Cloud - Simplify your life
