Sorry, work has been very busy the last couple of weeks. I am sincerely sad that I can’t keep up with my Civ games some weeks.
I happened to notice the timer was about to expire.

I just turned the timer off pending his return.

Thanks. I was gone for a couple days away from my computer, I’m back now. I’ll also be gone for almost a month in July. Although the way this game is going, I’m basically shark chum at this point. I’ll continue playing for the time being, but might resign at that time. Was a long and protracted war @J-Dog, and you played it well. I put all my hopes in my aircraft… and it was working, all the way until the moment that I researched aluminum to upgrade planes and found I had… none. Not a single source anywhere. My war pretty much died then.

And here I thought it was my nation-wide investment into anti-aircraft guns. Looks like I took your only chance for aluminum in one of the early Cree cities. War could have gone very differently if I hadn’t been lucky there. gg @Ceryn.
The AA guns definitely helped… but i doubt they would have been enough against 8-9 heavily promoted fighters at 100+ str. Anyhow, that’ll teach me to declare war for frivolous religious reasons I guess!
So I have basically 4 disconnected cities left and virtually no army, there is not much more I can do at this point that a comp couldn’t. I’m leaving on vacation tomorrow for 3 weeks, so will take this opportunity to say GG to everyone and not hold up a game in which I’m pretty much irrelevant at this point. See you in another one!

A few things came together here.
Firstly Norton was complaining for a year or so whenever I ran PYDT client - in Win10, and now for the last few months also in Win11. BUT it has now wiped it altogether after demanding I restart to enforce quarantine (even though I did not restart).
I will be away this week on holiday. I have just posted as on vacation and removed the turn timer.

I have bad news
Was loading up the game this morning to play my turn and my PC crashed with the dreaded blue screen of death
It now won’t restart
Will have to send it to the shop to get looked at

PC fixed! Bad RAM chip. Replaced and I’m now good to go. Thanks for pausing timer
Well my goddamn PC has died again today
Seems my optimism was short lived. It won’t even boot to the BIOS now.
Never mind, false alarm. I fixed it again. Unbelievably, another RAM chip died. I pulled it and it booted up no problem. I’m down to 12GB of RAM but should be fine
