Well crap, I don’t know what’s wrong. I’ve been trying for several days to get Civ running again, including uninstalling and reinstalling a handful of times, but to no avail. I think I need to surrender this game to let you finish.

Have you tried posting your problem on one of the discords? Maybe you can send your save to someone to at least verify its integrity? Does it crash on any load, or just this specific one? Can you start a new game?
Creyn, would you please stop attacking and capturing my cities. China has done nothing to you. We have respected your wishes not to send our rock bands; we have sent you trade missions. China has ever been your friend and ally, and your depredations are incomprehensible and cruel. Please, leave us in peace!
@Ceryn It crashes on startup, before I even have a chance to start a new game or load an existing one. I don’t have the time to troubleshoot this right now, so as much as I wanted to see how this game ended, I resigned so you can get on with it.

That is not true in the strictest sense, as you did shoot and even kill one of my units at the beginning of the war, before I had attacked. However, you have indeed been a good neighbor for the past millenia. I have unfortunately not seen this message before playing my turn, so I took another city… but I am willing to make peace and give you back your two northern cities (not the one on the Black sea, which poses a security problem). Let me know if this could be the start of a solution between us

Now that Andrew has thrown in the towel and it’s just us two, I have a proposal.
Clearly, I do not wish to incur your wrath by sending rock bands. No rock bands.
Additionally, there is no way I can catch up to your space race and science.
I’m prepared to do either of the following:
- Surrender
- See how many tourists I can nab passively before your rocket reaches Mars so that you can get whatever dopamine kick comes from the W.
What grabs you? Would you rather the W now, or do you want to try to optimise your space run?
I’m quite ok with calling it right now. My rocket is underway from this turn, and my estimations place the final victory in 15 turns at most, but there really won’t be much to do for those turns. GG to everyone, see you all next game!
