Yog, have you tried faith purchases yet? Are they still bugged?
Faith purchases should work in all cities built after one of last yearās updates. Not sure on the exact date, but I havenāt tested the feature in this game yet.
Guys,
As much as I hate to do it, Iām considering to remove Selezin, because of his excessively long turn times. Was hesitant to so, because he seems to be a really good Civ player and actually his Indonesia annoyed a hell out of me (in game of course).
However, his lack of due diligence is braking this game. His Steam profile shows him online, but his Civ moves just do not happen.
Therefore, if he reaches 3 days on his current turn, he will be removed. Also, if he completes his current turn, Iām putting him on notice and will remove him if any of his future turns takes longer than 24 hrs without āOn vacationā notification.
Shall we look for a human replacement? One AI may brake the game balance.
As from my experience civs closer to AI have bigger chances for victory.
just if we replace Indonesia, will need to return till the turn the kick happened.
If someone knows anybody willing to take over Indonesia, I would gladly ask Mr.Rosack to put them in. But TBH, at this point Indonesia is pretty much irrelevant. He has one city, nothing to sell, his technology is backwards, he has 3 or 4 units and nowhere to expand. Basically, we can treat Indonesia as a city state. I donāt think it will impact game balance in any substantial way.
i didnt know his status is so weak, and since my condition is not good either thanks to Yog, will not insist on it, will have quicker path to finish
A little PSA on my policy towards Indonesia.
So, Indonesia is my closest neighbor and in the beginning I was lucky to catch Selezin at his moment of weakness and pretty much end his chances in this game.
However, he managed to built a pretty ingenious defenses around his capital Majapahit and attack on it would probably have cost me my entire military. Kudos to Selezin.
But since Selezin left, AI is doing all kinds of stupid. Its not even trying to defend. So my thought was, that if I take such a nice and quality piece land so easily, it might affect game balance.
Therefore, I will make peace with Indonesia and will not attack him until turn 350 (thatās 200 turns). I will also not trade with them in any way. Other players may deal with them as they wish.
The only exception to my neutrality would be if any hostile nation tries to exploit this by using Indonesia as a base for their military. In such case I reserve my right to invade and actively defend myself.
@YogSothoth
can you finish me quicker please, i have no means to get stronger, and you neither pushing me hardly, also not letting to focus on cities and science etc.
so just send some descent amount of troops and release me from this pain
so Iām down to 1 city and well past the point of contributing to the game. Do you guys want me to stick it out, or would prefer me to drop out to speed the turns up?
Considering how long Indonesia stuck around as an AI, Iād say itās perfectly acceptable to drop out, in my opinion.
Up to you really. I always prefer to stick till the end, but if you want to leave, itās completely understandable. GG. At one point it looked like you were getting strength. Did not work out, I guess.
Agreed. Up to you. Itās annoying when people leave early and it changes the balance of the game. However, youāve stuck it out, lost your capital, and are down to a single city. Iād say leaving at this point wonāt change the balance of the game with AI replacing you.
Yeah, im also mindful that im slowing the game down without contributing, so Iāll drop out. GG, and well done to @petrojbl1, the early boat rush really threw me
i also consider dropping this out, havo no cities, no science, no prospects. unless you will start fighting between yourselves, dont see any point continuing this game
Not forcing anyone, but Iād suggest that @kilpa sticks around for some more time. You still have a few cities and your military is not obsolete just yet.
Iām really confused about how Dutch can move their ships with such speed and can sink ships of the same strength in just one turn⦠They just appear out of nowhere. Like last turn: my 2 Frigates see 2 Dutch Caravels. I diligently checked surroundings, no other Dutch ships within range (5 hex). So I attack one of the Caravels and do 75 HP damage combined. Next turn: one of my Frigates sunk, another has 20 HP left. How is it even possible? From my experience you need at least 3 attacks to sink Caravel. Iām absolutely 100% positive they did not have 6 ships in that region. And the most amazingly, the ships that caused all this damage gone!!! Arenāt they supposed to stay in the hexes from where they attacked? And this is actually the second time this has happened against Dutch.
Donāt mean to call cheats, but really confused as a new player trying to figure out naval battle mechanicsā¦
Hereās a wiki page Iāve found very useful for combat:
Thereās a damage formula halfway down that from my experience is fairly accurate.
First, Frigates and De Zevens have the same movement, but different melee (45 v 50) and range strength (55 v 60). Caravels have 55 melee strength. Your frigate attacks on my Caravel (55 range v 55 melee) is expected to do ~31 (+/- 20%) damage each without any level ups. My De Zeven attack on your frigate (60 strength v 45 melee) is expected to do ~55 (+/- 20%) damage, the second caravel attack (55 v ~40 melee) will do about the same to finish off your Frigate. So your Frigate sinking last turn is easily done with two attacks of my ship, while sinking Caravels 3-4 attacks using Frigates/Caravels. Last turn, I have two DeZeven halfway between your two former cities, where they could likely reach either for an attack (Given that you canāt move through my cities, you wouldnāt see them).
Yes, of course attacking ships would stay in the same hex (I believe only land units have level ups that allow movement after attack). My damaged Caravel retreated to a city to heal and the other caravel and the two De Zevens attacked your Frigates last turn. Iām not sure what other ships you are thinking have moved/vanished/disappeared after attacking??
Iāll go ahead and preempt questions about this turnās sinking of two of your Frigates. You have a great scientist as a scout that could see two De Zevens just west of Grazina. However, you left both of your Frigates (& Caravel) southwest of the city within 4 movements of ranged attacks by my two De Zevens and my closer Caravel. Frigate and Caravel take out first Frigate, second De Zeven takes out critically damaged second Frigate.
Iām leaving for vacation, so to avoid waiting i suggest you just kick me out.
Honestly, itās just wow⦠I completely fail to understand how is it possible⦠My Battleship, 2 ironclads and a submarine are attacked by Dutch battleship and 2 ironclads. After Dutch attack (3 ships=3 shots) one of my ironclads sunk, another badly damaged. OK, now I attack. I shoot 3 times at Dutch ironclad (already damaged from sinking my ironclad). My battleship, ironclad and and submarine barely do any damage to itā¦let alone sinking it.
Iām not even speaking about where those 2 ironclads came from, because I scouted vicinity with a submarineā¦there was no way they could attack this turn, unless they have 10 movement points.
I donāt see a point to waste my time playing this crapā¦
