noticed you are using BBS.
BBM has replaced BBS and BBS is no longer supported/maintained by its dev.
BBM is superior in all possible ways. if the map you are playing on is supported by BBM (primordial is supported), I suggest you play with BBM instead of BBS.
thank you!
I have updated the mod list above.
Here are your CIVS! I will start the game in a day or 2. Take the time to read up on your leader. Link in the description.
GL & GG!
Oh yeah. Barbs will hopefully be deity difficulty. Defend yourselves!
sorry, who is which Civ? not sure how the numbers translate to players
P1 (Valamas) = Teotihuacán Spearthrower Owl
P2 = Gaul Vercingetorix
P3 = Maya Te’ K’inich II
P4 = Thule Kiviuq
Today I received confirmation that BBG 7.3 (whether it’s .0 or .1) even though it allows you to load a game started in BBG 7.1.2, it “destroys” the next player’s save: any attempt to load a new save results in the client freezing.
But I see that in our game, I receive a save file that says it was made in BBG 7.3.1.
Have you done anything to ensure our game can continue?
I can’t load the save with BBG 7.3.1, so I’m temporarily deleting it and using BBG 7.2.1.
I had a look at my archive folder. We are on 7.3.1. Have been since the start of our game.
Do you know what I have to do to ensure our game doesn’t corrupt?
US Date format
The game was started with:
BBG Expanded v1.1
Better Balanced Map 1.32
Better Balanced Game 7.1.2
Now I start with only 2 community mods enabled:
and got
OK. I’ll try to reinstall Civ VI tomorrow but now I make my turn with BBG 7.2.1
You are correct, 7.2.1, i see it mentioned in the early posts here.
Generally, your playing profile should not include game play mods. They are loaded on demand. My game playing profile does not list any BBG.
Do you know how we fix this? I do not think reinstalling civ is they way.
Usually I also play with mods that affect saves installed but disabled. I specifically enabled them here to show that I disbled have absolutely all mods except BBG/BBGx. But the client still reports mod incompatibility. I suspect there are some saved changes in the database that are causing the error, and I’m hoping a reinstall will clear them.
Added:
No reinstallation was required.
Today I verified the integrity of the game files in the Steam client.
After that, this game’s save loaded normally, and even the Extended Policy Cards mod worked fine.
My next move will be in BBG 7.3.1.
sorry for your troubles. glad you sorted it out.
someone said use static bbg. i didnt this time when I should have.
No problem.
A static BBG is the right thing to do, since changes even in a minor version often breaks the game’s strategy.
By the way, I identified the mod that was causing the conflict with BBG 7.3.
“Districts don’t Remove Features (Including Natural Wonders)” makes incorrect changes to the database, so the conflict affects all games, not just those using it.
Will we finish the game or do we still want to continue until someone
achieves a cultural victory?
You have played really well. You are clearly a pro level player. Your control of city states, great people generation, and science pace has been hard to keep up with.
Generally, I prefer to play with more casual players so things stay a bit more even. I didn’t set that expectation at the start, which is on me.
I have not looked closely at your looming victory. But it is clear you will knock me out easily.
No offence meant at all. Just being upfront about the kind of games I’m looking for.
Thank you for the high praise, but I’m far from a pro player. I’m still learning from them.
The real pro players I know are Dynamic, rishat13, and Master DENy. I love playing with them, even knowing I’ll fall far behind. But every game with them teaches me a lot and isn’t wasted.
Regarding finishing or continuing the game: to finish, vote for my diplomatic victory.
Or vice versa.
I’ll be taking a symbolic part in this congress.
