Onan's game! (04a2043f)

I will consider it, sure. I had planned one more city but I think it’s on the same latitude as my northernmost city. Then I will halt my expansion of the north.

What’s up with the era progression? Shouldn’t we have progressed to the medieval era a long while ago?

I read it makes calculations based on an average of players that has progressed to the next era in tech or civic tree. But I can see all players has progressed to the next era in the tech tree and 2 players have progressed in the civic tree. I don’t think the 2 players still in classical civic era usually is holding the era back.

Hmnnn, my guess is we’re all just teching well, some very well, so many are ahead of the usual curve? Not sure how it works. My culture is basic, so…classical, which fits my C Republic. Last I checked it said still around 10 turns till the shift is formally declared globally?? Vikings have had impressive science and culture. A Wonder lurking in the fog…? King Harald, now. :bowed head:

Woke early, saw there was a turn, got it in and done. Could mean we get at least two in today? Shrug. All good, whatever happens. Fun when it moves, though.

Teddy embraces the Mighty Cree as long lost brothers! He has sent some of our new-fangled troops to tour your borders and lands…we call them “scouts with six legs.” They have a better view up there, and we don’t have to stop to pet and feed the dog so often.

Now the Vikings! I suppose, what do you expect from a Viking? We see his warrior spirit. We see him scorn our hand of friendship, and cross his arms across his chest. Our cartographers finally got on the job, and have surmised the site Peace From Above, where the world changed–you all felt it, it shook the globe with thunder and lightning!–while only ~8 leagues from our capital, is ~13 from the mighty Nidaros. Our historical record now reflects this clarity.

What can I say about the Polish that I haven’t already said? We look forward to continued friendship and trade, and who knows what more, one day? Without our natural barrier giving us mutual security, we are perhaps also natural allies? Also, while Teddy sends his concern over the dust storm raging in your west, there have also been rumours in the markets, among the money men–something about it raging for many years to come, may it rise in strength and lay waste all before it, a wreak havoc across the desert! Teddy didn’t quite understand what they were going on about…

We just got off summer time and are now on standard time (GMT+1) so I’ve got another hour to get turns in at night.

Oh nice! We’ve been on daylight savings for a while now. Seemed really early here! Looking forward to summer, and Christmas. Combo deal down here!

Out of curiosity, when do you guys usually play your turns in your days? I’ve been all over the place with lockdown and recovery, so none of this is routine for me.

But when you’re busy with your lives: work/school/family, whatever you do…when’s your civ slot?

Also, @J_Dennis so you’re still on GMT+1 though–as in, coming up on 6:30pm?

Once you all reply I’ll see if I can map it out and if there’s anything more optimal we can do. Not that I’m pushing us to go faster…I’m just curious to fit it together and see what it looks like. And I have time and drugs…did I say drugs??..I have time and energy to spare. Yeah, energy. lol

Yes, that is correct. It’s 18:40 here now.

I can usually make time within the hour unless I have a meeting or is doing something with the kids.

I often have a turn waiting for me in the morning and then I wait until evening when everyone else is up.
I often hope to get an extra turn in before bed but the game don’t always gets around that quick. Maybe it’s easier now when I’m up one hour later because we just turned our clocks back an hour.

Thanks. Yeah, we’re polar opposites. Our heads’ are pointing in different directions into space!

I can’t remember if we’ve talked about kids before. I have four. How old are yours? Ours are ~9, 12, ~15 (youngest twins!). BBGB in that same age order.

I think I mentioned them when I rambled on about board games. You were just about to have your surgery I think so it probably disappeared in all of that. :joy:

I’ve got two girls, 3 and 6 years old. We think we stop at two kids.

Oh, and what I’m looking for is just in your local times, (since PYDT tells me timezones), what are your usual START and END times for playing times. The most consistent, reliable slot, that fits in with all the other stuff you usually do on a weekday.

An example, from a hopeful future where we have routines again :exploding_head:

Me: Start ~7:00PM End ~10:30PM

There’d be other times I might jump on of course, but when the world is normal again, that would be my solid slot. Capiche?

I mean I could export the turn history and try to piece it together but I was wanting to eliminate all that randomness and just look at how our most consistent playtimes fit together. :face_with_monocle:

So did we. Woops!!! !!! !!!

Bigger car, bigger house, bigger hearts. It’s all good now, we’re out of the woods!

Congrats on the little people!

Yeah. Its about the same hours as you. It all depends on when I can get the kids to sleep.

I think I’m the only one from this game that is awake during your prime gaming hours.

Haha, we got twins or triplets in the family on both mine and my partner’s side (a couple of generations back) so we were a bit “worried” we would get more kids on our hands than we could handle. It was crazy just to go from 1 to 2.

Are yours identical twins or fraternal twins (is that the expression?)?

So your slot is similar to mine but in your evening, is that right? Okay. Two pieces of the puzzle, click.

Our boys are identical, but of course, not. Fraternals run in families; identicals just happen!

I’m working from home indefinitely at this point, so my prime turn times are from 8:30am - 10am, as I’m getting settled in to work, and then I try to check in in the evening, anywhere from 9pm - 11pm. I’m on U.S. CDT, and I think our daylight savings ends next weekend.

Yes, my evening.
