Do we have city states enabled?

that’s the current idea, but we’re open to the group consensus

Welcome all! Any requests/preferences regarding speed or other settings?

I’m good with whatever you decide.

I just finished an Island map game and it was pretty interesting. Gitarja is extremely strong, so I decided to pick Harald instead this time.

We played with this mod, which I really liked—please check it out and see if it makes sense to you:

the mod looks pretty cool to me, though Ethan says ‘maybe we can do it in another game’ :person_shrugging:

I think islands (island plates I assume) is essentially a similar result to the archipelago map setting

Okeydokey, off we go! quick speed, archipelago, no mods … good luck to all!

Somebody got second settler on the 1st turn
This is unfair.

And if BBM used, the map must be compatible with it.

RE?

How do you see that (settler)?
And on BBM - I have literary almost zero production around my founding city :upside_down_face:

One of the CS was defeated on the first turn. This means that a settler was captured.

My start is also poor.

I did neglect to disable BBM, which shouldn’t have that type of effect. There was a message on setup that the map type was incompatible with BBM, so I assumed it did not run. however, perhaps it interfered in an unpredictable way? We could certainly restart with BBM disabled.

However, I don’t think that the presumably captured settler is likely to be a result of BBM, whether compatible or not. On an archipelago map, land is restricted so it’s not impossible for a CS settler to be within attack range of a civilization’s start. Perhaps the fairer way to proceed (which we could do, if a majority agree) is to restart with CS disabled to eliminate that possibility.

I’m okay restarting.

I’m against disabling CS. The map needs to be expanded to accommodate 8 participants.

There will be room for CS.

There will be room for CS.

OK, seems like we are OK with restarting the game. Is everyone fine with restarting on a larger map (but keeping the # of CS and player # the same)?

I agree.
