Hey @matt_lambert I have to apologize, I am new to this, had some issues with computer and was also not able to reply here. I am also new to discord. As you see I have played other games, but that particular game I was unable to play because of some issues with mods. I think I know managed to figure out everything to avoid such issues. Sorry again.
No worries, I thought it might be something with compatibility of versions or mods because I saw you playing other games.

Small issue, I realized Norway still has their ability to cross Oceans at Shipbuilding (civiliants & war ships) which kinda messes with what I’m going for. Should we redraft entirely, give Lambert a new draft, or just allow it?
Kupe on the other hand seems to have lost any ability related to Oceans so I guess he could be free game.
Edit: Also I’m searching for the correct mapscript and it might be less easy than I wouldve thought

Aight I’ll do a full redraft, sorry if there’s any disappointment - Maori becomes unbanned while all Norways become banned.
Using Got Lakes? ; and a lot of hard work and retries, I’ve managed to generate something which, I think, is satisfying.
I’ll use a different map seed but you get the idea. The red scribble are landmasses where a player starts - as you can see they’re all isolated by 1+ tile of Ocean. I’ll double check to see if you can cross Oceans by “owning” that tile in Civ6 but I think that’s gone.

Edit: Indeed, you cannot.
Leif Eriksson (Great Admiral) allows you to cross ocean tiles but I’d say he’s fair game, it’s very common for even harbor-heavy civs to complete Cartography before getting Leif
IMPORTANT: BBS or BBM are not compatible with Got Lakes?. Thus you might end up with a suboptimal start. If it’s really bad, we might have to vote for re-maps. Don’t hesitate to move your settler on turn 1!
I will only reveal the map to make sure the 4 main continents are separated by Oceans but I will otherwise not look at your start.
Here’s the new draft. Pretty balanced outcome in my opinion, though I wouldve loved to try the Maori…
Keep in mind the map will be unusual so choose your civ wisely as it may rely on its starting bias - Got Lakes uses starting bias just right, but it might not be the exact experience you’re used to.

also, the current game otrokooo is trying to start has no expansions, so i am suspicious that they don’t have all expansions required for this game.
