My voting was complete shite as my computer was set to shut down and I had about a minute. Shrug.
The Empire of Kongo has been peaceful up to now, and was intending to stay that way. The Khmer have now declared war, and it seems likely that Sumer will follow suit. While I understand the reasoning behind the agression, I am fairly sure I outproduce and outtech you both, and you will be fighting on my turf with an upgraded Victor in place. If you want peace, turn back now. That said, you probably CAN pillage before I fully get my army into functioning order; every pillage that happens on my territory will need to be paid back in full with interest if you want the war to end (Iām thinking 200 per tile, and 300 per building/district, + 100% per passing era). Kongo wants to be peacefulā¦ but will be vindictive if necessary.
We can begin negotiations later.
Our veterans heard such tales of wonder from your lands, they had to visit! Merely touristsā¦ Of course since they were not granted a visa, they have taken it upon themselves to see whether your cultural achievements are there for all to admire or are jealously guarded.
So far, not much military in sight! We may negotiate when you have some. Till then, weāre here to keep you honest in defending what youāve built, rather than sitting back and letting you build more!
Got a new computer, decided to start a new game since Iām not waiting days for turns to load anymore.

Are there enough units for you now? My willingness to negotiate wanes with every pillage.
There seem to be enough to defend, but not to attack.
That is probably the case. You might want to consider however that if you force me to produce enough units to be able to attackā¦ well I might decide to use them ^^
Thatās the idea!
The world is still in a period of tumult, although it seems Korea and China have settled their differences?
Tourism in Kongo is hard! It looks amazing, but the locals donāt seem to appreciate our commerce!
Korea has decided to join the fray on the side of Kongo. 2v1 doesnāt seem sporting. It may be a plastic war to begin with, but the might of Korea shall soon be at the doorstep of Khmer and/or Sumeria unless they relent.
This is interesting given that we attacked to prevent an early cultural victory by the Kongoleseāa goal which all other players would seem to share!
Given this threat seems to have passed, we are willing to discuss terms. Define āsoon.ā
We also wonder what @_Fhtagn our Chinese neighbours will make of this further threatened Korean aggression?
I am open for discussing an end to the war.
Sorry, going through a bout of depression and fatigue.
Doing my best to remember taking my turns, but not very succesfully atm.
@J_Dennis @Onanista If you want to talk about peace, here are Kongoās demands:
Sumer:
-Troops have to retreat towards Uruk-hai beyond the range of my outer outposts, to the region beyond lakes Hammar and Hawr as Saādiyah
-You have pillaged 1 trade route and 1 improvement which i care about, plus a bunch which I donāt; at the rate announced earlier (considering trade routes as a building), this would be 500g reparations. Since I also much more recently pillaged one of your own trade routes, I am willing to reduce this to 300g.
Khmer:
-Troops have to retreat towards Angkor Thom at least to the south of the Gulf of Thailand.
-You have pillaged 2 improvements and 4 buildings (2 of which is the same library which i foolishly rebuilt, so lets count it as one, so 3 total), plus some stuff which I donāt really care about. At the rate announced earlier, this brings reparations to 1300g.
In any case, this war has also shown that Ngazargamu is way too close to me to be anything but a liability, so by accepting peace you also accept that I will be razing it as soon as possible (this part is non-negotiable, as well as troop retreats).
You are of course welcome to produce counteroffers, or to alleviate each otherās reparations. Note that if we reach an agreement, war still wonāt end before troops have fully retreated to the previously mentioned spots, back in your respective borders.
@_Fhtagn Hope things will get better for you man. My best friend had a bout of depression last year, I know it can be rough. Let me know if I can do anything of if you want to talk to a stranger! (donāt know if that would help you or not, but I guess more options is never bad, right? ^^)
Hi Jens, very sorry to hear youāre having a hard time! The turns can always wait, this is just a gameā¦unless the diversion is helpful.
Iāve struggled with depression throughout my life as well, or built my life around having that tendencyā¦itās what led me into my work as a counsellor. Anyway Iāll message you on Discord.
Aloha
We are conferring. To show good faith our units have been removed from your lands.
Note that in future we reserve the right to cultivate resources in our outposts near your lands. It is unreasonable to demand we not defend our interests in our own lands.
Builders will of course be allowed, but any kind of significant military presence (i.e. more than 1 or 2 units) will be a no go from me. Of course, I will similarly refrain from sending significant forces to my own border outposts, and will keep the larger part of my army within the borders of Mbanza Kongo.
While your demands of Sumer approach being reasonable, what you ask of the Khmer is unrealistic in view of the situation on the ground. Do your walls need to lie in ruins and more of your city in flames before you revise your offer? Remember, it is you who are suing for peace, not the other way around. Given the Khmerās position, I would advise you offer terms to save your skin, rather than as though it were your forces threatening a more final solution!
