Phil the slower and smaller seas (4b3d0ad4)

Let it be known that on turn 207 I finally built my first iron mine. Next turn I will have 2 iron. About time.

You Dog you! I haven’t even seen iron. Of course, we just see your dust now with an almost 2000 point tech lead per turn. You can have your GDRs create their own iron.

I have minimal iron, but still see no nitre.

I don’t have niter either. And I just got horses a few turns ago, have a grand total of 6 horses. But thankfully I have a lot of coal, oil, aluminum, and uranium.

No practical iron, no niter but you have tanks.

It’s a good thing tanks require oil. I have plenty of the black gold, the Texas tea.

Do I hear a banjo? I think Deliverance ruined banjos for me.

GG. My warriors held up about as well as you would expect.

GG Dan. Army level armor is tough to stop without a lot of units. Thanks for sticking in until the end.

Ozy, if you want to surrender that’s fine. The end is not in doubt I know you wanted to cut back on games. I’m going to finish because I have never won with Brazil, but feel free to stay in or leave.

GG Guys. Turn 248 Brazil captured the last city. We were all extremely close in science, gold, culture, faith up until around turn 120-150. At turn 120 I pulled ahead in faith. At turn 150 my science and culture skyrocketed right when all my Preserve districts came online. Ozy was dominating the units killed and cities captured for most of the game. Even at the very end, Ozy killed more units then Dan and I combined. He was in a slug-fest with the other civs.

Let me know when you are done with your break. I have an idea for another Phil the Seas series where we start to fight right away as opposed to building up for 150 turns and then going at it.

GG.
A really frustrating game for me. One civ did me the honour of declaring war, but at another civ’s remove from my cities, so every time I conquered the city, it flipped 2 or 3 turns later. I had trebuchet so could weaken and reconquer instantly the moment it flipped, with a free dunch at the 2 free barbs that appeared. Slowly I moved more units down, and achieved a cycle of more cities reconquered and flipping over a 3-5 move cycle. Eventually I achieved a southern core of non-flipping cities and then could move north and attack the nearest civ, but it was far too late then.
I had iron from pretty much the start. Although I denied nitre, I suddenly found towards the end of the game I was getting 2 per turn, but was unable to find where from. I managed about 3 upgrades with it.

I didn’t get iron until close to the very end. I finally got 2 per turn so I could start railroads. Without railroads it was so slow moving units through the jungle.

I never got horses until the end, and by then I didn’t need them.
