[DONE] Our Host has resigned, we need a new admin

Hello again!

There was previous thread about this topic (this post in particular: [DONE] Revert game back 3 turns - #6 by Toast_King), but it didn’t seem appropriate to reopen a closed topic.

Our host resigned about a year and half ago and so far we’ve been doing fine without one. But one of our players is taking quite a long time with his current turn (30 days at that moment) so we’re considering using ‘turn timer’ to skip his turn and move on with the game. However, we need an admin to use that option. The other players aren’t too well versed with the Play Your Damn Turn details, so I’d like to ask you to make me host/admin of that game. If you need confirmation of one or several other players, I’ll get on organising that. Thanks in advance for your help!

done!

Brilliant, thank you so much!

Thanks again for helping us a few months ago! I was made admin in that game (after the host resigned), but the ‘Edit Game Parameters’ button (to use the Turn Timer) is not visible. In another game, where I have been admin from the beginning (i.e. creation of the game), it is visible however.

I’ve managed to access the page by adding ‘/edit’ to the url, but afterwards it won’t let me save anything (which I guess makes sense). The error message was: “Error Message: You didn’t create this game!”.
I’ve tried other ways and I’ve searched on the forum but I can’t seem to get it to work. Would you be so kind to help us and have a look what might be going wrong here? Thanks in advance!

Context/lore:
To continue the ‘story’ in the opening post: We had a discussion with our group of players and decided that every player would have 14 days maximum to play their turn. We agreed that upon taking longer than that, the Turn Timer would be used manually to skip that turn of that player (and we would continue normally). So far, we didn’t need the Turn Timer, the deadline (and the ‘threat’ of its enforcement) was enough to encourage people (mostly that one tardy player from the opening post) to play their turns in a timely fashion. However, a deadline is coming very close (about 8 hours atm) and in preparation I was looking for the right ways to use the Turn Timer. It was then that I encountered the problem described above.

PS I’ve read the FAQ’s and I’m not 100% sure if posting in a closed thread is the right course of action here. On the other hand, opening a new thread, which would continue on this one, seemed a bit artificial. If I should have done things differently, please let me know and I will do so in the future!

Hmm, parseus was the admin, not you, I’ve made you the admin.
