Blarney's Quickee (1991c868)

They angered me. It’s time for them to become Alexandrians.

GG Blarney, I was poorly prepared and you took full advantage.

Thanks Matt: I do admit I was preparing for a military defense against Alexander right from the start, once I found out we shared the same land mass. My fortune was getting Hercules hero so early in the game that allowed for tech and military development quickly. But yeah, once you moved in to take Mohenjo Daro, and I noticed that I had the advantage, it just made sense to further move against you. Of course, your civ NEEDED to act militarily in order to get its benefits, so yeah, I was definitely wary… and ended up prepared. Hope we meet again in another game as allies…

Sorry guys! I didn’t know what happens when everyone passes on a great person! And I did that with the Great Merchant, meaning Alexander is the only one that can get the current one now, and I don’t think that is ever going to happen! After the turn, I looked, and here is what the AI says: If every civilization passes on a Great Person in Civilization VI, that specific Great Person simply stays locked in the recruitment pool. No one claims them, and the game will effectively stall on that Great Person index until an AI-controlled civilization eventually generates enough points to automatically recruit them or change their mind. So I guess a Great Merchant is locked for everyone, not sure I like that personally!

hehe aw darn! Well, that hurts me pretty badly, but maybe it’ll roll over in the new era or something. No worries, and good to know for the future. Man, that great person SUUUUCKED lol.

GG @matt_lambert

Well, here we are to the final turn! Good game Mengiac, you did well with the Culture and Diplo aspects of the game big time. I was 21 turns from winning at most, haha. I am sure you would have had the Culture victory too by then. I still had a ways to go to research the tech to get to speed up my science victory. I was quite amazed to see that Spain had much more science and culture production than I did at the end of the game. I think the issue was that I felt I had to devote a lot of energy to military production to fend off first the attacks by Alexander, and then Spain. And then the big time penalty for very support on my part for housing and amenities. Still not sure how I messed that up so bad! I don’t think I have ever ended a game where I was in real trouble with it, and really, there was no way out of it other than through devoting a lot of time to the buildings, and of course, reducing war weariness.

So Mengiac, when you get the win, please post the screen here, and then I guess BumsAreCool (or Smoke Daddy something or other), can surrender the game to close it out. Happy voting at the congress….

Mengiac wins!!!
