Aside of using a fractal map, I’m also thinking of randomising the other land generation factors like sea height, rainfall etc. (not resources, though). What do you think about that? Want to try it or do you prefer a more standard map?

I can see snow to my south I think as well. Also, my start seems playable too. Not spectacular, but not terrible.
They just released a patch fixing start locations. Maybe it would be worth restarting this game so we’re not all clustered near Antarctica?
It depends. Is your location unplayable/really bad? Like starting on ice? If we all started in playable positions, just close to each other, that’s not necessarily an issue. Maybe the world is just really squeezed towards south
I started on snow about two tiles north of icy waters… spent about 3 or 4 turns moving my starting Settler north to better land. I’ll play it out, just wish Firaxis would get their shit together.

I’m sorry everyone, we need to restart the game due to the spawning location bug. Pigeon has an extremely bad starting position. Tundra, poor yields, almost nowhere to expand and another player - or two - right nearby. I hate losing two weeks of turns but I think it’s better in the end than to have an unfair game.
