my start was ridiculous especially for Maya. I used BBS but it didnt do well here.
Maya started alone with 6 city-states, while four of us are on the same continent with only 2 city-states. China is probably out of the game for this reason.
I also thought about quitting after Vietnam ruined my start with religion, but I saw that Scotland was preparing a war with me (why not China ???). This kept my interest in this game.
Of course, we have no chance against Maya, even if we unite … and even if Maya diplomatically leaves the game himself, which would be noble of him.
The only chance to regain interest in this game is to unite against the Maya and help Vietnam to win religion.
anyway, your status is amazing! My neighbors was settle as it is and is building districts. My australian mini-war was opportunity to capture Australia for Vietnam. But he is not aggressive.

i don’t want to quit as i am enjoying the game it’s a builders dream. . i can back off and you 3 have a mini game or go for it and come for me religion wise or army. up to you guys. my start was unfair beyond belief. i didnt set that up it may be to do with maya start bias, i don’t know but it was impossible to lose from it. I do think i played it very well but it was just wrong.

I will stay in because I want to continue to learn how to play Vietnam. I know we have no chance of winning but it is still fun.
I think Maya must have a start bias that puts them alone with city-states. This is my 3rd game with Maya and in each game they were alone with only city-states. By the time we all meet Maya they are 2-3 eras ahead. Everybody has around 50-80 science and Maya has 300+ science. Every game.

i will pull back and go do my thing on my island. If anyone wants to pull out fair enough. Maybe Maya needs banned from this kind of set up.
I’m going to surrender when the turn comes around again. I find that all I’m doing is hitting end turn just to send the game along. I played as much Vietnam as I wanted. Hemmed in and not a lot of production.
