Sorry for the wait on finishing my turn, but Civ 6 is crashing immediately whenever I try to load the latest save. Yall ever seen that happen with PYDT?
Never mind, fixed it after a verify and repair of cache.
If it happens again and a verify/repair doesn’t fix it, the game’s page has an option to Revert turn. I’ve needed to use that button on other games before when nothing else would work. It seems to be mostly successful luckily, and just makes the person prior to you redo their turn.
My apologies for letting this hang for a week. I was away but I thought I’d be able to get some turns in… which turned out to be naive. I’ll let you know in advance the next time.

I took the pantheon that gives holy sites adjacency bonuses for tundra, then spammed several holy sites with bonuses like +6, and then ran the whole game with the policy that gives you +100% holy site adjacency bonuses. This gave me an insane early faith income, which allowed me to convert my neighbours and wipe out Poland’s religion. The only competing religions were then America’s and Russia’s.
I was dragged into a war with America early when they attacked my ally, Cree. This wasn’t a planned war but I had some navy which I sent to pillage… but since America didn’t have a navy of their own and left their coastal cities undefended, I took 3 of them. I was the overlord of Kabul (+100% experience) the whole game so my ships got very experienced very quickly. My battleships were able to demolish everything 4-5 hexes from the coast. I didn’t intend to actually conquer America but I used the war to force my religion into their cities. This was actually quite slow and painful. Eschatos kept refusing any peace offer - which I think was the right call because if he accepted peace, my apostles would quickly overrun him.
With America converted, Russia was the only remaining religion. At this point, they declared war on my ally Jerusalem, which I used to declare a protectorate war (another +100% faith for Georgia). I expected a similarly protracted war as with America. I had several tanks and helicopters incoming, the plan was not to take any cities and just use the cavalry to escort my apostles. I have converted the coastal cities in the first turn of the war…
…and then the game was over. Apparently that was enough? Russia already had some frontier cities converted to my religion and conquered Jerusalem, which was also my religion. That was quicker than expected.

Well done. You were scary big way too early on. Realized too late that we had no chance to counter your religion if Russia were to falter on that front. This was my first Poland game, and I absolutely did not play a good Poland.
Congrats! I think I could have done more to fight this game… but I somehow ended playing SimCity by myself and actually had fun. I did learn a thing or two about city planning.
