lol, who used the pantheon exploit? not playing nice.
uh oh. i wasn’t aware there was an exploit for this (it also wasn’t me, faith is for dorks)
yeah, you can select a pantheon multiple times and have the benefits stack. in this case the culprit took multiple free settlers and builders.
thing is when you do this it means if someone else selects the free settler pantheon they get the benefit too. so i just got bonus settlers too.
i suggest we either revert the turns and play properly, or kick the cheat and just have one ai.
@angelspikevg hey friend i believe this is you through process of elimination, I thought it was a bit unusual seeing a second city w/ builder already out and running… so is this why?
I’ve not heard of the pantheon exploit before but yeah that is not cool. I only just got my pantheon last turn and went bonus to pastures… Can we confirm for sure a cheat occurred? (I’m presuming we are talking about Mali) I have no vision. I know you are a well informed civ player based on many games played with you… For comparison I’ve gone builder first, settler next, with a 2nd settler coming out next turn. I hit one bonus population off a goodie hut.
My solution will be to boot the cheat and never allow them into future games. No reason to revert however many turns doing guesswork. Bums me out in a four person game we ran into this.

ummmm, so okay i misread. how many turns ago did you get multiple bonus settlers @HappyCamper? Only way to solve this is to revert turns… Sorry I’m chatting w/ @onesixty2 and he is pointing out why I’m dumb lol <3
if it was just last turn Angel did the exploit, booting and reverting should hopefully resolve it. Depends on how early he got the pantheon though
@onesixty2, @BigStickOfButter, it was just the last turn i founded my pantheon (sorry i didn’t mean to submit after i saw the extra settlers was on autopilot). i kept a copy of the save file and just did a test with the builder pantheon and same result bonus builders…
screen shots here (https://imgur.com/a/hZVkzfP). i have no direct visibility so just going off the status bar. reckon it must have been at least a couple turns as mali has three cities founded so if any of those came from the pantheon they would have needed a couple turns to move to a valid location.
if you don’t want to revert the turns i’ll happily delete my extra settlers then post proof here.

Wow, that is quite a thing, game isn’t perfect but that doesn’t give free reign to waste other people’s time with exploits. Thanks for posting what you noticed, we’ll need to scrap it and find another fourth it sounds like. A relic on turn 1-5 would explain the 9 pop and three cities with improvements already completed.

perhaps not my business, but if game allows it why not make it? i didn’t know its possible though.
As lawyers would say, whats on contract everything is ok, he did not do anything against law. Its not nice, but there are some other glitches also, like overpowered nations etc…
would be nice to hear his opinion, but looks like he is kicked from everywhere…
As per my experience kicking player and replacing with AI makes a lot of space to expand for nearby civs. and in many cases even human civs dont want to cooperate to make strong opposition to emerging power…a win in that case makes no sense…even after a year of play.
@kilpa, i think the difference with the pantheon glitch is that it’s a hidden “feature” that runs explicitly contrary to the game design and documentation (ie you should get one pantheon that confers one benefit).
if people want to play a game where everyone can use the exploit that’s fine, but it should be clear from the outset - like if you were using mods. otherwise it’s just spoiling other peoples’ fun.
but the culprit seems to have gone now so it’s a moot point. i hope he wasn’t cheesing too many of his other games.
