Well good news is that I’m feeling a bit better… Still getting tests done but I’m at least functional now.
As for this game: well, I spawned next to the coast, which seemed bad given that I think I need to maximize the number of settles within 6 hexes of my cap. Hence the 5 or so turns to settle my cap. And tbh I haven’t really thought much about how to play Maya so I suspect I will get waxed. But what the heck!

Umm, watch out for me: can’t tell the difference between a “pasture” and a “plantation”, lol… Built my science UD right next to two horses, rubbing my hands at the +4 adjacency… but no, it’s a brick. Gah!!

Gents, there is a bug with faith-based buying introduced by Firaxis in the last update. Their “solution” is for us to run a legacy version of the game, but even that doesn’t work on a save file done after the patch, so we’d need to load up an older save file…?
What little “strategy” I have certainly depends on faith-based buying, I’m in monumentality and need faith to buy builders and settlers… I’m going to not take my current turn until I hear back from y’all.
