Smack talk goes here for Civ 6 Random Civ FFA!! Game URL: https://playyourdamnturn.com/game/681eb6d1-74b9-4699-963d-634143089d59
Thanks for the invite.
I am in GMT. Currently playing many and all times of the day.
There is possibility that sometime in new year may be restricted to evenings only for roughly 6 months.
Hello again!
I’m GMT-8, US PST. I have availability most of the day however. So long as I’m not between two GMT / GMT+ people, should be a good flow.
Thanks for another game, glad to see there is a commited and fast community starting to form here
My time is GMT+1 (Amsterdam), I’m usually only able to play in the evenings, but I almost always play at least once a day.
Welcome all so far.
I’m GMT -8 also. (Western Canada) I’m usually evenings, and sometimes a turn around 7am before work, if I’m not too busy.
Does anyone know a good balanced map? I’ve been Googling around but haven’t had much luck. Although I’m not even certain how to use a specific map if I had one.
If we end up with 4 or 6 players you could try 4-leaf clover or 6 armed snowflake, they have mirrored starts.
I’ve never tried Earth map against humans… Maybe True Start Earth if we had balanced civs not too crowded together?
Or just random civs and random map and take our chances like every other game.
That could be cool, I’ve only ever tried Earth with friends in a non-competitive game, but it’s quite a cool map.
Thanks for the invite. I play in the morning, at lunch, and at night, so my timezone doesn’t matter. I am GMT -11 though.
A TSL Earth Map would be fun and definitely has my vote, I haven’t done one of those on PYDT before. Have found the map to be a bit cramped, so I think balancing civs based on starting world positions would be best as well. We could determine a random pool based on positions around the globe, and draw names from a hat for who gets which perhaps?
Really though, i’m good with any map type. Have recently been enjoying my Island games a whole lot, and fractal is always fun because of the odd landmasses it creates.
My only-always request/ask if that if we’re doing a non-TSL is to verify no players are starting in tundra before submitting a save as turn one… so i’m up for a fun game
Also: if we’re wanting a TSL, I have -no idea- if this works for PYDT but: https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/ynamp-yet-not-another-maps-pack-for-civ6.25395/ / https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=871861883&searchtext=yet+not+another has some larger TSL Earth maps that are more fine tuned / much, much larger varieties.
This could be a curious thing to try out, but without anyone having personal experience I can’t say this wouldn’t break our game after a patch.
I have done TSL 6 times in PYDT, so I think I know it by heart now. Have also played the 6 player snowflake 4 times so I know that one by heart also. But I’m up for another TSL if that is what everybody wants.
Quick speed though?
Well I would hope that an Earth map wouldn’t hold too many surprises for any of us.
I’ve played (and really like the options on) YnEamp on single, but not multi. I’d hope that it’s just a map generator, so once it’s been made that the mod wouldn’t even be necessary.I might try starting a game with it, then turn the mod off and try to reload, and see what that does.
I’ve invited a few others, so I’ll wait a bit to see if they join and have an opinion. If we were to do Earth, we could maybe have one each from North and South America, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and two from Asia, if we had enough people. Randomly assigned.
Hah… might be so much easier to just go with a random map.
Hi thank you for the invitation. I am playing in timezone CET +1 and mostly in the evenings from 19:00 - 23:00
Not familiar with any of the maps, so will leave the choice to you all.
Thank you for the invitation!
I try to play turns at mornings and right after work and before going to sleep so it does not matter much except usually I sleep from 12AM to 8AM. My timezone is GMT +2 (Finland).
Maybe I’ll set up a dedicated Earth game, but for this one I’ll stick with what was advertised.
So I’ve moved us around a bit, and hope this will be a good order. I’ll probably wait a couple of hours to see if anyone else joins. I’ll run through the first turn before saving, as Onesixty suggested.
Cheers!
Sounds good! Hope I get a water civ. Indonesia, Dutch, Norway, something good. Please no Scythia
Well, we’re launched and everyone has a decent civ and a decent start. Some more so that others. You know who you are.
Good luck everyone, and have fun!
Nobody got what I would consider “a water civ”, although Japan is nice near the coast. At least I won’t be Norway rushed in this game like I was in another game
I have no idea what you’re talking about.
