Hi all: Happy to be here, Kublai not overly happy with start, oh well! Is anybody ever? Anyways, just wanted to bring this to your attention as a possible problem, as I am not sure what it means. There was a note next to a barbarian proximity warning (of which I saw none), that I don’t understand and had never seen before. It says “BBM = 1.00: This Map is not supported by BBM.” If anyone knows it might cause a problem, we should figure it out before we get too far. Thanks for input as I am fairly new to the pydt client and use of mods.
Hey @BlarneyOBlade !! My guess is that the “Earth“ map type, where the map is literally based off planet earth, reflecting it’s landscape, geography, and resources, is unaffected by/incompatible with BBM - Better Balanced Maps, which balances spawns to give us all equal, and very high yields. I believe this incompatibility, and the error message, is expected and working as intended.
So I think we can expect some civs in this game to have dogshit yields at the start, or even throughout the game, and some being more lucky than others. And this is in favor of just trying out the map type to see how fun it is.
It is worth noting that we have BUFFED SPAWNS. so any city center will be 2F/2P on hills tiles, and 3F/1P on flat tiles. WOO!

Thanks for the explanation. Makes sense. I didn’t know what the buffed spawns was exactly like, as I might have settled the first turn, but I think it will be alright where I moved as it provides access to better production yields. And I did join the Discord after I posted above, and checked it out, but didn’t say hi…
So, we are into the game a bit, and I was wondering about game settings. Are there barbarians? are there natural wonders? Haven’t seen any of those yet!

Guys, sorry for delaying this turn. Last night I was travelling to my parents’ house south of my country (Chile, 850 km trip, by land). I arrived this morning and hoped to have played my turn by now, but we don’t have electrical supply since my arrival, due to bad weather and strong winds. At least now we have access to mobile internet, but my batteries are running low. It is possible that supply will be restored before night arrives, but I ask you if we can rollback this turn to allow me play this turn. Hope you understand

I am fine with that… would hate to have it happen to me!!! Although you can always check out the turn and see if it would have done better than you could, haha. Actually, having never been a victim of the turn timer, I am assuming the AI plays the turn? am I right on that?

@BlarneyOBlade yes, AI plays the turn, normally they offer some deals to other players and sometimes that can hinder some progress.
@BumsAreCool It worked, thanks! It’s raining a lot right now, but within the new 24 hr turn timer I should play the turn (hope in the next hours, though, it’s winter here and getting dark soon, it all depends on electrical supply company).

Thanks guys, still with no supply, but I could charge my devices in town nearby, so I played the turn. If i don’t get supply this weekend I’m back home in Santiago by monday afternoons anyway.

Again I was skipped? As i told you I arrived home today 1 hour ago or so, and my turn was skipped minutes before it seems. @BumsAreCool can we revert for the last time? This should not happen again (yesterday afternoon, last time I checked before my trip back my turn didn’t arrive yet)
