I’m in. Points for never quitting, but I’d rather not dominate because I had the better start or some OP civ.
Game is on! Scotland vs. Mapuche. Should be interesting considering neither of these civs are island centric. I have not played Scotland yet so looking forward to getting a few golf parks.
Mapuche hate golf! I will rampage on your courses! Pretty happy with my start… hope we aren’t next door neighbours again.
Well, this is island maps so hopefully you can’t rampage my gold courses too soon.
I’m in a game right now playing Mapuche. I absolutely love the Molan Raiders. Get the policy card that doubles pillaging and your gold/science/culture/faith output is good with a couple of Raiders. Of course, I suspect ships will become very important.
Wish I had drawn Dutch or Indonesia 
Well, I just rampaged through Stirling, so I guess we can probably call this one. 
Sorry about the surprise attack… I saw you steamrolling over England and the City States, and thought I’d take a chance to slow you down before my bonus against Golden Age expired. I was a little surprised at how effective that bonus was, especially in naval combat. Going in, I thought I was a goner.
I don’t know how things would’ve gone without the Venetian Arsenal… you were building up again, and I was stuck trying to get through that little passage to the north. Maybe that wonder is too powerful… like maybe if it gave double builds in the city of origin alone would be better.
Anyhow… Good game!
Ya, good game. The biggest mistake of the game was when I allowed you to take Bristol. I had eyes on your fleet south of the city so I knew where you were, but then I miscalculated. My game plan was to allow you to come into the cove between Bristol and Sheffield and then destroy you. I didn’t think you would capture Bristol so easily. If I had known, I would have moved my fleet south and blocked you at the chokepoint between Bristol and where Nag Mapu is located. Then we would have had a stand off there, and the game would have been differently. So stupid of me. However, if you had waited another 2 turns to attack me, I wouldn’t have been able to fight you off as much as I did. I had already sailed my entire navy north and to the east to go capture more city states. When you attacked me, I had to sail them all the way back.
That was a good move attacking me when you did.
It’s clear you are the better player, but I’m up for another game if you want to play again. If you don’t, no worries.
Sure, I’m up for another. I don’t know about being the better… I actually have picked up a quite a few strategies by playing you. I never bothered much with commercial hubs and harbours before, for instance.
